I’ve been up and down with my health recently, and this is what prompted me to write this post. As a person with an invisible health condition or a ‘spoonie’ I am constantly trying to manage my health, housework and energy levels.
Here are some things I have learnt along the way 🙂

- Choose waterproof bedding solutions (this will save you tears during flu season when you may be stuck on bed rest)
- Easy zip quilt covers – these unzip on both sides so the duvet can be placed in and then zipped back up. Helps many ‘spoonies’ gain a sense of independence as they are able to easily change their own sheets.
- Keep a mini lightweight ladder in the house
- Buy adjustable and easy to move furniture (i.e. furniture with wheels, pay for assembly services whenever necessary
- For mopping, sweeping – use grabber tools and mops with a reusable machine washable head.
- De clutter environment: Get rid of unnecessary ornaments, figurines, toys etc
- Install shelves and spend money on storage solutions
Hope these few hints helped!
With love,
