Having been unwell this week, I had to spend a lot of time on bed rest and it took me back to some of the easy arts and crafts activities I used to do while I was in hospital.
Therefore here are some examples of super easy, therapeutic arts and crafts activities for kids (especially sick kids) to help ease boredom and uplift moods.
pre-made canvas are great as they have a stencil already drawn on them. Simply paint, add embellishments like sequins, modge podge and create.

When really restricted, cant get out of bed, photoshop or computer art is great as it can be done from an iPad, or computer and is mess free.
Drawing apps such as Sketchbook or Procreate can be used with an Apple Pencil and iPad to create digital sketches.
Wacoms or drawing pads which connect to a desktop are also another great option for digital drawing.

Ready to paint pottery is a fantastic option. Very simple and low effort.
Examples such as air dry clay or oven bake clay are great options. Kmart and homeware stores have a variety of options. Paint these and spray with a spray sealant to make waterproof. Use these for jewellery, trinket trays, gifts or mini vases and decorative objects.

Use watercolour paints and cotton paper to create handmade cards. Incorporate designs from colouring books. These are great as gifts on and special occasions.

Another craft which can be done sitting down, with easy cleanup. Lino cut sets can be used with different coloured paint and construction paper to create beautiful prints.

Handmade jewellery like bracelets are super easy to make and can be done over an extended period of time.
Great way to use a variety of materials (and recycle). Add stickers, paint markers, photos to create unique pieces.
